Do we take eco bricks? Unfortunately we are not collecting eco bricks any longer. It was a nice idea but turned into an absolute disaster with people supplying us with tons of waste plastic that weren’t good enough for use.
Is the volunteering all gardening work? No, there are plenty of things to do from boxing up recycling, turning compost, pruning, planting to helping with short or longer running projects such as building compost bins, mini gardens for children and vegetable beds for over 50's gardening club. Take a look at our Volunteers Page or our Facebook Page. Once you've volunteered once, you can join our Facebook page for Grove Park Volunteers, where we post upcoming projects.
Do we need volunteers and does it matter if I can't commit to certain times? Yes! We always need volunteers. We have a relaxed approach, you can come whenever suits you (as long as we are open). To arrange your first visit please contact us. If you have previously volunteered and want to again, you can either get in contact or join our Friends of Grove Park Volunteers page on facebook to see our call out request (but you are welcome ANYTIME)
What are the tall purple plants and where can I get one? They are Echiums, we have some available at a recommended £3 donation from our Plant Rescue shop. Come and take a look in the yard. More about Echiums here
Do we recycle? Yes, we recycle everything we possibly can. Take a look at The Recycling Page
Can I plant in the Edible Bed (or anywhere else)? No. If you have surplus plants get in touch and we may be able to find a space for them, or put them in our Plant Rescue Shop to raise funds.
When are you open? You are welcome in the park anytime. Our volunteering opportunities are sporadic, but you can usually find us around lunchtime onwards. CLOSED: Tuesday and Wednesdays.
